Season Finale 2016-2017
Please take note of the changes to the final meeting of the season:
1) Arrival time for this meeting has been moved to 6:30 PM to allow sufficient time for the set up of the sweets table and the arranging and labelling of member photographs for the Photo Challenge.
2) You may bring a guest to this meeting so that they can appreciate the talent and friendship that abounds at the LCCC.
The final business meeting will include a summation of the year, the election of the Executive Officers and the announcement of the Special Interest Groups’ Co-ordinators for the coming season.
The submissions for the THEME - “CONFEDERATION” will be shown immediately following the business section of the meeting. Please ensure that your submission is sent to Robert Feduke no later than noon on Tuesday June 27th.
This will be followed by the break so that you may enjoy the sweet table and view the Photo Challenge submissions. You will have a leisurely opportunity to chat with your fellow photographers while enjoying a multiplicity of deserts.
There will be cards provided so that the members submitting photos for the Photo Challenge may write the title of their image and their name. These should be completed upon your arrival at 6:30 prior to the start of the meeting.
All photo submissions should be mounted on foamcore and/or in a mat so that they can be displayed to their best advantage.
As in years past, munchies to share should be finger food and as well, sweets. We look forward to sharing the sweet submissions from all our excellent club bakers. Paper plates and napkins will be provided. Please bring the beverage of your choice, as long as it is non-alcoholic.

Compositing is the combining of visual elements from separate sources into single images, often to create the illusion that all those elements are parts of the same scene. Today, most, though not all, compositing is achieved through digital image manipulation.
Our own Jean-Denis Labelle will illustrate the art of compositing through digital manipulation.

Time To Get Creative
Our Annual Photo Challenge has always been a popular event and hopefully this year will be no different. We have seen some fantastic and very interesting images from all of our members and hope that you will continue to share your images by participating in this challenge. So get those artistic juices flowing, challenge yourself, then present your creative results at our last meeting of the year on June 27th.
- Juxtaposition: A fancy word for contrast. Specifically, juxtaposition is when you put two opposite things together and the contrast of those two things becomes interesting. Think about sizes, thin/large, tall/short, old/new, circles/ rectangles, dark/light, etc.
- Make Believe: Create an image that is not really what it is. The possibilities are endless, let your imagination soar.
- Vintage: This could be an image of something old, from a different perspective, or perhaps something new, altered to look old.
- Yummy: Let your creativity go wild, capture “delicious”.
- Water: Good old H2O, in all its many forms, sprayed, flowing, boiling, etc
You choose a maximum of three (3) of the five (5) categories to display at the June 27th meeting.
The time frame is from Tuesday, September 27, 2016 until Tuesday, June 27th, 2017.
Images are to be no larger than 8x12. PLEASE mount your images on a firm backing such as foam core. The images can also be matted but this not necessary. We ask that you use black or white foam core and/or matting.
Please bring your images in by 6:30 pm so they can be set up for display.
Bring your partner, friend, or another family member to share in the evening, enjoy the images and meet the other members of our club.

Guest Speaker: TANIA MARSH - PHOTOSENSITIVE ALUMINIUM AND STILL LIFE PHOTOS
Tania studied photographic techniques at Algonquin College and has a degree in Art History and Arts Administration. With her interests in art and photography, vintage interior design and the natural world, she pulls together unique creative passions that are reflective in her work.
Tania has founded The Silver Shingle, a signage and creative imagery company that specializes in photosensitive anodized aluminum. Each metal plate is individually hand developed in a darkroom whereby the image is embedded within the photosensitive aluminium. The end result is a unique and attractive way to display photos in which the images take on sheen-like quality that draws viewers in and captures the imagination.
We look forward to seeing her images and exploring new ways to display our images.
