As most of you know, in place of the regular meeting for December, Applied Photography is planning an outing to Upper Canada Village to photograph the Christmas lights. Wendy and I hope you can all join us for this luminous event.
I'd like to get started with the logistics, regarding who plans to go and what to do about car pooling. If you are going, are you willing to drive or do you need a ride?
The village is open from 5-9 and it takes about 1.5 hours to get there. I have been told to expect a line up at the gate, so arrive early. Therefore, we should leave Perth around 3:00. We can decide amongst ourselves how late we want to stay, but I was originally thinking to leave there by 8:00.
This will be a "weather permitting" event, so we will be keeping a close eye on that and posting accordingly.
See other details below, and get your name on the list asap. Thank you all and have a beautiful day.

ALIGHT AT NIGHT
EASTERN ONTARIO’S BIGGEST OUTDOOR LIGHT FESTIVAL
Bundle up for an evening stroll through this picture-perfect postcard setting! Close to one million lights adorn the heritage buildings, trees and fences of Upper Canada Village creating a one-of-a-kind magical backdrop for its annual Alight at Night Festival - a true winter wonderland!
Each year Upper Canada Village is transformed into this one-of-a-kind holiday setting with new seasonal activities and awe inspiring lighting.
Come experience the enchantment of horse-drawn wagons through the night. Book a romantic carriage ride for two on the Pommier Carriage (rides are limited so book early.) Hop on board a life-size Toy Train. Holiday music including carolling at Christ Church, festive dining, hopping and other seasonal surprises all add to the ambience of the event. Alight at Night Festival remains a favourite family tradition, and one of the region's main attractions in a variety of fun-filled Overnight Getaway Packages.
Don't forget to stop by Saint Nick's Merry Mansion (Crysler Hall) to visit our Victorian Saint Nick and tell him your Christmas wishes! Let us take your family holiday portrait (fee applies) or take your own!
Please note that with this planned outing to Upper Canada Village replaces the regular Tuesday meeting that would have been held on December 5.
Important: There will be NO meeting on Tuesday December 5.
