When: Tuesday, November 24, 2015 @ 7:00 pm
Where: Algonquin College Room 104
Guest Speaker: Claude Panneton
Claude Panneton’s passion for photography and visual art has grown under the surging influence of mobile photography and digital arts communities. His work has been exhibited in Italy, the U.S and Canada. Claude’s inspiration comes primarily from nature and is focused on emotive story telling. His modern and eclectic style depicts the sentiments and stories of his life and photographic journeys.
Whether landscapes or conceptual art pieces, Claude devises evocative visual themes from photographs taken with mobile devices and DSL cameras which he then manipulates using mobile applications. We certainly look forward to his presentation.
BAPC presentation: Keith Hare & Bill Millward
Keith Hare and Bill Millward from the Brockville Area Photo Club (BAPC) will be presenting a proposal for our club’s consideration. They have invited us to participate in a joint photographic project in the Spring. This could be a positive opportunity for members to interact with those from the BAPC and to participate in a fun and shared learning experience. Details of their recent outings can be viewed on their website: Brockville Area Camera Club and clicking ‘recent outings’ from the left hand menu options.
Theme Image: Left Behind
With Halloween and Remembrance Day over you may have already taken some photos that fit right into this month’s theme. Alternatively, you may have other innovative interpretations that are sure to impress. Since the Theme Image is always open to individual interpretation, we look forward to seeing your submissions. You are encouraged to submit your photos to share with other club members. Sending your images by e-mail works very well and facilitates showing them on the screen at the meeting. For this month, please send your photo to Robert Feduke. When submitting your images, please identify them with your first and last name and in the subject line of your e-mail indicate that it is for the theme Left Behind.
You are encouraged to submit images for Anything Goes either by e-mail or by bringing them with you to the meeting in printed format. You can submit more than one image for this segment. For images submitted this month please e-mail them to Robert Feduke. Please identify the images with your first and last name and in the subject line please type Anything Goes.
It is by sharing with each other that we learn and this segment offers an opportunity to do just that. By sharing our images we receive encouragement for our efforts and gain inspiration from the work of others which may lead us to try new techniques.
Critiquing Portfolio (NEW)
The photographs presented at the Critiquing Meeting are a fine example of some of our member’s photographic skills. To showcase them, these photos will be presented at the close of each of the Main Meetings so that they can be appreciated by all the members.
