When: Tuesday, March 24, 2015 @ 7:00 pm
Where: Algonquin College, Room 104
Guest Speaker: DR. SHELLEY BALL
Our own LCCC member Shelley Ball has returned from her Arctic adventure as a volunteer teacher on a Students On Ice expedition where they visited northern Labrador and Greenland by ship. Shelley was one of 42 teachers for the 86 students and will share with us her photos and stories of the adventure and talk about the value of ‘experiential and expeditionary’ learning for youth. Knowing the excellence of Shelley’s photographs we can expect to see some more wonderful examples of her work.
Theme Image: COLOUR EXPLOSION
This month’s theme is appropriate for the end of our long winter where we see beneath the snow for the coming of Spring. You may have some early shoots breaking forth or have taken your camera to the fruit, vegetable and flower stalls of your local market which would provide some interesting submissions. The topic is open to your own interpretation as always but it seems even the Northern Lights are providing a dazzling light show tonight across our skies. We look forward to your images.
You are encouraged to submit your photo to share with other club members. Sending your image by e-mail works very well and facilitates showing them on the screen at the meeting. For this month, please send your photo to René Jones. When submitting your images, please identify them with your first and last name and in the subject line of your e-mail indicate that it is for the theme COLOUR EXPLOSION
You are encouraged to submit images for Anything Goes either by e-mail or by bringing them with you to the meeting in printed format. You can submit more than one image for this segment. For images submitted this month please e-mail them to René Jones. Please identify the images with your first and last name and in the subject line please type Anything Goes.
It is by sharing with each other that we learn and this segment offers an opportunity to do just that. By sharing our images we receive encouragement for our efforts and gain inspiration from the work of others which may lead us to try new techniques.
